Σπάνιο Αρχοντικό του 18ου αιώνα

The Mansion was built gradually from the mid 18th century and is considered one of the six original grand mansions of Hydra island and – according to most scholars, the oldest.
The mansion over the years evolved in form and shape according to the needs at the time, thus the final additions were completed at the beginning of the 20th century.

The original owner of the Mansion is a vine must trader by profession, he had been a prominent member of the Hydraic local government since the early 19th century. Many official local government documents bear his signature.

The next member of the family that stands out is an important wheat merchant, who died right before the breakout of the revolution against the Turks, in 1821.

His son became an important wheat merchant himself and later on Mayor of Hydra (1879 – 1883).


The building is listed as a cultural monument.
